Winemakers Notes:
The 2003 Tom Eddy Cabernet Sauvignon is an adventure for the palate. Layers of classic Cabernet flavors are woven together with rich subtlety allowing for the discovery of distinct characteristics with every sip. Chocolate covered cherries and anise strike first with overlapping flavors of velvety cassis that pummels the palate leaving delicate hints of cedar and spicy clove to linger on the finish. However, you may be waiting a while for this wine's flavor to cease as it leaves an impossibly long elegance in your mouth to enjoy long after the sipping is done.

Harvest Notes:
Heavy precipitation in December lead many growers to predict a huge rain year in 2003 but a dry January and February helped to balance things out in a relatively gentle El Nino year. A mild winter with moderately warm temperatures in February and early March caused bud break to be early. Rapid growth in May and good bloom for Cabernet Sauvignon was fortuitous for our vineyards. Heat waves in June and July stalled the ripening process leading to a slightly late harvest with some very long hang time in some of the vineyards.
